A simple guide to tailoring ✨

Is there anything better than feeling completely at ease and confident and happy in your clothes, clothes that feel like they were made for you?

While we strive to design and help you find your ideal fit, sometimes a few personal adjustments are needed. Tailoring is a way to tweak those elements for that deliciously snatched effect.

Follow this simple guide to find your dream fit. We’ve even added a few of our personal resources at the end.

Assess the fit

Try on your Lovaan garment. How does it fit around your shoulders, bust, waist and hips? Are you happy with where it falls? Consider if another size would help, and get in touch with us for support. But if a minor area or two doesn’t quite feel right, jot it down and think about what you’d like altered.

Find a tailor

Start local. Ask your community for recommendations they love and trust. We find that personal referrals often lead you to hidden gems. But if that doesn’t get you far, simply search for tailors nearby. Dip into Google and Yelp reviews to gain insights into customer experiences. Then schedule a fitting to discuss your needs and get a quote.

Explore DIY resources

Don’t underestimate your ability to make little tweaks and repairs, like reattaching a loose button or shortening a hem. YouTube or sewing blogs are treasure troves of step-by-step guides on basic alterations that could save you a trip to the seamstress. Or if you’re lucky, you might have a parent or grandmother with a lifetime of practice.

 Enjoy your perfect fit

Taking the time to achieve a beautifully fitted garment can make a world of difference in how you feel and present yourself. Enjoy the process and relish the results. We adore seeing you in your Lovaan pieces. Feel free to share photos and videos with us by tagging @lovaanstudios and #lovaanstudios on Instagram or by emailing us at hello@lovaanstudios.com.
